Who We Are

The Olivenhain Fire Safe Council (OFSC), established in 2020, is a group of community members who are concerned about the wildfire danger here and are deeply committed to promoting prevention, preparedness, and safety throughout Olivenhain. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Because a community is only as safe as its weakest link, the OFSC seeks to engage our neighbors, educate them about ways to mitigate the threat of wildfire, and facilitate access to information and services to help protect life and property. In pursuing our mission, we partner with local agencies, such as the Encinitas Fire Department; Fire Safe Council of San Diego County, under whose auspices we operate; the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation; the Olivenhain Town Council; the San Diego Sheriff’s Department; and other agencies and organizations, as well as local businesses.

Residents who are interested in improving wildfire safety at home and in their neighborhoods are welcome to attend our monthly meetings and get involved in our activities. Area businesses are invited to attend as well.

All residents of Olivenhain have a role to play, and together we can build a safer community.
